Submarine Cable System
Today, Indosat network is known to be the best in Indonesia. The network includes submarine and terrestrial cables supported by the latest technology of optical fibers.

The Optical Fiber Media extends over 9000 km throughout Sumatra, Java, Borneo Island, and Sulawesi. With the nominal capacity ranges from 2.5 Gbps to 80 Gbps, the optical fiber media connects almost all provinces in Indonesia.
Indosat International network, provides direct connection from Indonesia to worldwide (this international network strengthen with high resilience submarine cable system, such as SMW-3, APCN2, China-US and AAG). Our new submarine cable system, JAKABARE (Java-Kalimantan-Batam-Singapore) stretching over 1300 km provides high bandwidth between those cities and between Jakarta and Singapore.
This cable system, initially equipped with 160 Gbps capacity with 1.28 Tbps as ultimate design. The cable system offers scalability to customer's requirement by offering full range of SDH interfaces (STM-1/4/16/64), as well as Ethernet interfaces (Gigabit Ethernet [GbE], 10 GbE). Combined with Indosat's existing domestic and international submarine cable networks such as SMW-3 and APCN, the operation of JAKABARE cable system enables Indosat as the only provider who is able to offer high quality and reliable services through diverse routes from and to Indonesia.
